More of Arles

Van Gogh spent a little more than a year in Arles and painted something like over a 100 paintings during that time. This is a picture of the hotel he stayed at for a while and painted this garden. Oh, and he cut his ear off here. Who wouldn't want to see that, right?

Arles is considered the Rome of France, so it was no surprise to find a Colisseum there as well. It is so amazing to think of how old everything is. And still beautiful. One of our coolest thoughts as we were driving away from Arles was that we had read in one of our guidebooks that one of the churches there supposedly had an imprint of Jesus' knee. So Jesus was there. And then we were there. Pretty cool, huh?
