We have decided to make going to Chicago in December a tradition for our family. After last year's crazy crowds and freezing weather, we decided that the weekend before Christmas may not be ideal. So we went the first weekend in December this year, and although it was still cold, it wasn't nearly as busy. It was a pretty laid back trip this year, with a little bit of shopping on Saturday, hanging at the hotel all day Sunday, and an extended day trip to Macy's on State to see Santa and have dessert in the Walnut Room. The kids did great, and we had a great time.
This was Charley's first time in the water. He was a little unsure at first, but he was all grins by the end of it.
Abe and Jack had a ball in the water. And although there are no pictures to prove it, I was in the water as well.
These two also loved the hotel room. This was the first time the two of them have shared a bed, and although it took a while to get everyone to sleep, they did pretty good once they got there.
Macy's Santa Land was awesome -- and we didn't have much of a wait. You can see from the pictures that it was about two hours past naptime. Abe was concerned with letting Santa know that he wanted an iPod and a keyboard, Jack couldn't get far enough away from the big guy, and Charley just wanted his beard.
