Mother's Day

What a fantastic Mother's Day!  We loaded everything up so that we could go for a bike ride right after church.  It was a great service, and the most beautiful weather for a ride.  Charley and Jack are still working out the kinks of riding in the trailer together, but it was fun nonetheless.  We stopped for a light lunch and pedaled on.  Abe is great on his own bike, but since Dar and I are trying to train for this triathlon and are trying to log some faster and more consistent miles, Abe rode the trail-a-bike instead today.  I had him and Dar had the younger two.  We went 12 miles and it felt great!  

Then we came home, threw a few water balloons (ok, that was just Abe and Jack), and the boys took LONG naps.  Dar and I sat on the deck, drank lemonade, and planned our life (ok, mostly just the summer).  After the boys woke up, we walked up to our new favorite sushi place.... "Happy Fish."  The boys were awesome -- Abe loves the raw fish and miso soup, Jack loved the noodles, ate a little sushi, and loved edamame, and Charley was a huge miso soup fan.  It was perfect weather for a walk.... it is nice to be reminded of the perks of living in the middle of Peoria.  I feel so completely blessed.  We talked to both Grandmas (missed Mom today -- she and John are at Jazz Fest in New Orleans).... what an incredible day!  Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms in my life!
